1985 Hardy River Pilot 20

"Victoria" is a Hardy River Pilot 20. These are basically the same as the Hardy Pilot 20 but with the galley and steering inside rather than outside. The patio style doors open out to the aft cockpit so this layout gives better shelter and internal space

These are sturdy little boats, they are just as at home coastal cruising as pottering along inland waterways.

The Hardy River Pilot 20 unlike the Hardy Pilot 20, has a fully enclosed wheelhouse with wooden full height patio style doors. The enclosed wheelhouse gives them better all weather capability yet open fully to the cockpit to enjoy sunnier days. They also have a deeper central keel than most, giving better directional control (useful in narrow waterways) and a nicer ride in choppy seas.

Hull, deck & superstructure

• Blue, painted GRP hull.
• Central keel, tapered from the bow to the stern.
• White superstructure with crosshatch moulded non slip pattern on the walking areas.
• Aft cockpit with two quarter seats and lockers. New cushions 2019.
• Enclosed cabin and inside steering position.
• Bi-fold doors to the cockpit so the boat can be fully opened up when the weather in nice.

Interior & accommodation

Forward

• 2 berths which can be converted to a double by using the larger table top.
• Central table with pedestal leg and two table tops, one large and one smaller which can also be used in the aft cockpit.
• Storage under the berths.

Galley

• To port with two burner gas hob which is fed from the external gas bottle in the cockpit locker.
• Kettle.
• Stainless steel sink with manual hand operated water pump.
• 50L fresh water tank under the forward bunk.
• Large storage unit below the counter.

Heads

• To starboard in a dedicated unit with bi-fold door.
• Porta Pottie style chemical toilet.
• Mirror.
• Opening side hatch.

Helm station

• To starboard aft of the heads is the helm with instrumentation, engine controls and raised seat.
• Opposite is the co-pilot seat.
• Sunroof.

Aft cockpit

• 2 x quarter seats with internal storage.
• 2 x quarter lockers aft.
• Gas locker with Calor gas cylinder and space for a 2nd.

Equipment

• Anchor and 30m of chain.
• Fenders.
• Boathook.
• Auxiliary outboard bracket.
• Automatic bilge pump.
• 2 x batteries.
• Fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
• Full cockpit canopy.
• 2 x axle trailer. The trailer looks serviceable but the breaks need replacement.

• Yamaha FT60 DET Serial No. 6C6 L DET.

• Last serviced June 2023 including timing belt. No hours running since.
• Wheel steering and gear/throttle in the cabin.
